Montgaillard. 3rd prize for flowering in its category

The town has once again won an award in the departmental competition for flower towns. This year again, it won 3rd prize in its category (301 to 500 inhabitants). Award-winning, certainly, but a little annoyance is palpable within the town hall. “As much as last year it was a surprise, this year it’s a little disappointment” confides Jean-Claude Bourgeade, the mayor. He salutes the work of Emmanuel Simmonot, the municipal councilor who works voluntarily to bring flowers to the village. “Emmanuel Simonnot was committed to flowering with perennial plants, 7 different qualities and maintained them with love. A priori, this did not please the jury.” Jean-Claude Bourgeade believes that compared to last year, the municipality had made much more effort. He puts the situation into perspective and positively: “we have to look at the glass half full, because the town is on the podium for the twentieth time in 25 years, including two years without a competition because of Covid,” he confides. Ultimately, he agrees that the flowering, beyond the competition, “is more for our town, its inhabitants and its visitors, who appreciate the welcome and its quality of life.”
