The Coactis Santé association, which has existed for 25 years, develops tools to promote access to health and care for people with disabilities: Handiconnect.fr, site to help professionals in their practices with patients people with disabilities, and SantéBD.org. This last platform has just been enriched with a comic strip dedicated to the equipment.
The SantéBD.org site provides educational and customizable comics in different fields of health (cancer, dentistry, general practitioner, radiological examinations, gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT, etc.) and on different subjects. In ENT, for example: consultation, examinations, audiometry, etc. Professionals and the general public alike can download explanatory comics, personalizing them according to the patient’s profile (girl, boy, woman, man, elderly woman, elderly man, with or without a wheelchair). Put online at the very end of 2024, the one entitled “I am going to have a hearing aid” presents the different types of hearing aids, the stages of the care process and the fitting as well as the follow-up, the prices and the reimbursement… It was created with the help of the Union of Hearing Prosthetists and Infosens. Like all the content offered on this portal by Coactis, this comic aims for universal accessibility, relying on language that is easy to understand by anyone, whatever their age and difficulties*.
