Mazda presents the 6e, its new electric sedan

Elsewhere, notably in China, it is called EZ-6. In Europe, it takes up the torch and the name of the large sedan by adding the fashionable letter: here is the 6th. This is the brand’s second 100% electric model but unlike the MX-30 crossover, and also unlike the Chinese version of this 6, it will a priori remain only electric, the range extender version apparently not being not on the program.

Two versions

Always as pragmatic in its approach, to achieve real energy efficiency rather than “marketing” figures, Mazda does not play one-upmanship when it comes to batteries, to maintain a reasonable weight. The basic 258 hp version is therefore equipped with a 68.8 kWh battery, announcing a range of 479 km. This is low compared to the competition, but we can really hope to achieve this autonomy, as well as the official average consumption of 16.6 kWh/100 km. The other version, less powerful (245 hp) will get 552 km from an 80 kWh battery. In both cases, fast charging accepts a power of 200 kW, enough to recharge from 10 to 80% in twenty-two minutes. The new Mazda 6e will arrive on the European market this summer. Prices are not yet known.
