How to protect yourself effectively from viruses? How to prevent their transmission? Among the simple measures to adopt are barrier gestures, hygiene measures, but also wearing a mask. And the health authorities have understood this well since the Covid-19 crisis. This is why the Regional Health Agency recommends that all health establishments in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region make wearing a mask compulsory.
“The Agency also recommended that all health and medico-social establishments in the region make the wearing of masks compulsory on their sites and strengthen hygiene and prevention measures”she writes in her press release published on Wednesday January 8, 2025.

The Besancon University Hospital (Doubs), the Haute-Comté Intercommunal Hospital Center in Pontarlier (Doubs) and the Jura Sud Hospital Center in Lons-le Saunier (Jura) follow the recommendations of the ARS. Wearing a mask is again compulsory in their premises. The Haute-Saône department did the same. EHPADs and hospitals of the Haute-Saône Hospital Group require the wearing of masks. This recommendation applies to everyone: professionals, patients and visitors, upon entering the site.
Other hospitals in the region have advised mask wearing but have not made it mandatory. This is the case of the Louis Pasteur Hospital Center in Dole in the Jura and the Nord Franche-Comté hospital in Trévenans in the Territoire de Belfort.
