Engulfed in flames since Tuesday, Los Angeles (California) is preparing to experience another night of fires, Friday January 10. Firefighters, supported by residents, are hard at work trying to control outbreaks which continue to multiply.
The firefighters of Los Angeles, in the United States, seem powerless in the face of the violence of the fires which have ravaged everything in their path since Tuesday January 7. On Thursday, January 9, American firefighters waged a third night of fierce battle against the flames, while new outbreaks continued to break out.
Residents are trying to slow down the progress and save their homes with paltry means, such as buckets of water. “Since 1993, I have seen fires, but never like this”assures a Californian. Houses burst into flames in seconds. Faced with this storm of flames, the residents feel very alone. “I thought there would be more Canadairs flying. It’s not possible that there would only be one or two”deplores a resident. At least five large outbreaks are still out of control. “Fires are expected to spread quickly due to strong winds”Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said.
