The Southern Alps hospital center (which brings together the Gap and Sisteron sites) launched its white plan on Friday January 10 at 4 p.m. The establishment records “a high number of people in its services” linked to two seasonal phenomena: the flu and “high attendance at ski resorts”. Consequence: “longer waiting times in emergency rooms and an increase in hospitalization needs leading to saturation of reception capacities”.
The white plan aims to guarantee continuity of care in an exceptional situation. It results in particular in the strengthening of emergency teams at Gap, a crisis unit and the opening of 19 additional beds, available from this Saturday afternoon.
To limit the spread of the flu, wearing a mask, washing your hands and getting vaccinated works, says the regional health agency. And before going to the emergency room, it is better to consult your doctor or pharmacist as a priority, and to contact 15.
