Measles: the number of cases recorded in Moroccan prisons rises to 47 (DGAPR)

In a press release, the DGAPR specifies that 07 infected people recovered after being subjected to the health protocol in force, noting that the number of contaminations currently stands at 40, of which 38 cases have been quarantined and two subjected to treatment at the public hospital.

As part of its communication approach, based on openness to public opinion, and keen to inform them of developments in the health situation within penitentiary establishments in connection with the measlesthe DGAPR reported 16 cases at the local prison of Tangier 2, of which 15 were quarantined and 01 are undergoing treatment at the public hospital, 09 at the local prison of Mohammedia and 07 at the local prison Ain Borja, of which 06 have been quarantined and 01 is undergoing treatment at the public hospital, specifies the same source. According to the same source, 02 cases were also recorded at the central prison of Kénitra and at the Bourkaiz local prison in Fez, while only one case was recorded at the local prisons of Bouâarfa, El Kelaâ des Sraghna, Benslimane and Tétouan.

Furthermore, 05 cases were recorded among the prison staffof which 01 was able to recover, while the others were subject to the health protocol in force. As part of the efforts deployed by the DGAPR in partnership with the supervisory ministry to prevent the spread of this disease in penitentiary establishments, 3,788 prisoners and 84 civil servants benefited from an operation. voluntary vaccination against measlesunder the supervision of medical staff reporting to the provincial delegations of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.

The DGAPR also underlined that “all penitentiary establishments are continuing their mobilization in order to prevent and stem the spread of this disease, in application of the provisions of the note distributed for this purpose and in close coordination with the competent department”.
