Christy Clark would launch the race for leadership of the PLC, according to Canadian media

Former British Columbia premier Christy Clark will be a candidate in the Liberal Party of Canada (PLC) leadership race when the rules are set, said the National Post, THURSDAY.

A member of M’s national campaignme Clark, Tyler Banham, confirmed in an interview with the Canadian media that the former provincial premier would prepare to formalize her candidacy.

“Unless the party comes up with some crazy rules, I expect us to show up and win,” he said.

The latter clarified that the politician has been preparing for months to present her candidacy. She has traveled to the four corners of the country. She also came to Quebec to improve her French skills.

Mme Clark considers herself a centrist liberal, according to the National Post. She will be able to count on the support of Western Canada because of her former positions.

If she officially enters the race, she would be the second to do so. Thursday morning, Liberal MP Chandra Arya announced his candidacy in a press release and on social media.

Four ministers already in the Liberal government, including three Quebecers, also stressed that they were considering a possible candidacy. They are Mélanie Joly, François-Philippe Champagne, Steven MacKinnon and Jonathan Wilkinson.

Dominic LeBlanc, who was highly sought after by several members of the party, however, confirmed that he will pass on this race for the leadership of the Liberal Party of Canada.
