Reacting to what was broadcast by some electronic sites regarding “the spread of measles among the inmates of the local prison of Tangier 2“, the General Delegation of Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR) indicated that as soon as the first symptoms of disease in four prisoners, including two new arrivals, the administration of Tangier 2 prison immediately undertook a series of preventive measures.
Suspected cases were put into quarantine and submitted to the necessary analyses, specified the DGAPR in a press release, adding that the appropriate therapeutic protocol was followed for the cases tested positive among detainees and civil servants, in cooperation with the health authorities locales.
An operation of vaccination volunteer against measles was also carried out for the benefit of prisoners and staff of thepenal institutionunder the supervision of a medical staff under the Ministry of Health.
