Moroccan Bouchra Karboubi arrives at 5th place for the best female Football referees in the world, as part of the 2024 Awards of the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).
The Englishwoman Rebecca Welch occupies first place in this ranking, ahead of the Frenchwoman Stéphanie Frappart and the Swede Tess Olofsson.
The first Arab woman to officiate as the main referee in an African Cup of Nations (Ivory Coast in 2023), Bouchra Karboubi has also just won the title of best referee on the continent, during the ceremony. CAF Awards 2024held on December 16 in Marrakech.

After her exploits at the national and continental level, she was selected to officiate matches at the last Women's World Cup, organized in Australia and New Zealand, last year.
Bouchra Karboubi also had the privilege of becoming the first woman to direct a first division match of Botola Pro D1 football, just as she was appointed to officiate the final of the 2019-2020 Throne Cup.

The Moroccan referee also received the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Prize for sports creativity at the start of the year as “best Arab football referee”.
