The Ministry of National Education extends the measles awareness campaign

Faced with the increase in measles cases in the Kingdom, the Ministry of National Education has decided to extend the current awareness campaign. Instructions were given to schools, and a stepped-up vaccination campaign was launched, despite concerns over the circulation of misinformation regarding the safety of the vaccines.

The Ministry of Health has decided to extend the ongoing awareness campaign, which includes reminders and vaccination updates for children under 18 years old. By strengthening this campaign, the ministry seeks to ensure that all children are immunized, in order to avoid new cases.

He also gave instructions to provincial directorates to take preventive measures against the spread of measles, a disease which has led to the death of several children in certain regions of the Kingdom. This situation prompted health authorities to intervene to limit the spread of the virus and guarantee the safety of the population, particularly young children.

In a circular distributed widely to schools, the ministry recommended that all students showing symptoms of measles go immediately to a dispensary or hospital to receive the necessary care. This recommendation is intended to ensure early detection and prevent further spread of the disease.

However, this initiative was not without complications. Some audio recordings, broadcasting doubts about the safety and quality of vaccines, have sowed confusion and raised concerns among some parents and citizens. This erroneous information had a negative impact on the smooth running of the vaccination campaign, sometimes discouraging families from having their children vaccinated. Faced with this situation, the ministry took the lead by firmly denying these allegations. He reaffirmed that all vaccines used in Morocco meet international standards in terms of quality, safety and effectiveness. The ministry also clarified that, for decades, no problems have been observed following the administration of these vaccines, emphasizing the reliability of these health products.

It is important to remember that measles is not an isolated disease in Morocco, but is part of a global trend. Indeed, measles cases are on the rise in many regions of the world, including Europe, Africa, North America and other parts of the globe. This global spread of the disease has reinforced the urgency for increased vigilance and rigorous health measures at the national level.

In this global context, the ministry calls on parents as well as all citizens to actively participate in the success of the vaccination campaign. This campaign is not only limited to protecting individuals, but also aims to strengthen herd immunity, a key element in preventing large-scale epidemics.
