According to a recent study, mushrooms, in addition to being excellent in many dishes, are a real fertilizer for the brain. Consuming it every day would allow you to become more intelligent day after day. At least this is the idea supported by scientific research: mushrooms, consumed regularly, act directly on cognitive functions to improve our memorization and learning abilities.
Results that seem surprising, but which are true. According to the study published in Nature Reviews Neuroscience, these facts can be explained by three major mechanisms by which bioactive compounds in mushrooms promote proper brain function.
Thus, mushrooms, but especially their compounds, are considered real natural fertilizers for the brain: they help strengthen its plasticity and its capacity for adaptation.
Mushrooms rich in ergothioneine are the most effective. It is a powerful antioxidant, which the body cannot produce on its own. This thus plays a key role in neuronal protection. A weekly consumption of 300 g of mushrooms reduced the risk of mild cognitive decline, a precursor to Alzheimer's, by 50%. This effectiveness is based on the combined action of ergothioneine and other molecules which reduce brain inflammation and preserve neurons.
Lion's Mane mushroom is one of the mushrooms that is particularly beneficial for the brain. It is quite simple to integrate into the diet. Indeed, it is possible to consume it in powder form (for a smoothie), stir-fried, in soup, in hot drinks… It is also possible to find it in the form of food supplements to facilitate more regular and targeted intake. A little-used mushroom that turns out to be an ally in boosting our memory and taking care of our brain.
