Three works will retrace the saga of wines in Languedoc from Antiquity to the 21st century. The first, “The feeling of Languedoc”, is signed Marc Médevielle. It recounts three strategic centuries: 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, which forged this “feeling” of Languedoc. His portraits of winegrowers, agronomists, naturalists, scientists and philosophers shed light on the unique identity of the AOP Languedoc, illustrated with iconographic finds in regional archives and libraries. This book, published by Atelier Baie, regional publisher, will be completed, for a trilogy at the end of 2025, by “Languedoc in Antiquity” by Stéphane Mauné, archaeologist and researcher at the CNRS, and “From 1985 to today”, by journalist Florence Guilhem.
