Some 2 million doses of seasonal flu vaccine have been put on the market since last September, said Saturday in Constantine, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Industry, in charge of Pharmaceutical Production, Fouad Hadji.
This quantity made it possible to “quickly respond to the needs of citizens as part of the current season’s vaccination campaign against seasonal flu”added Mr. Hadji who was carrying out a working and inspection visit to the wilaya of Constantine alongside the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Baddari.
After inspecting the technical installations and technological means used for the production of this vaccine within the Saidal unit in Constantine, the Minister Delegate underlined, in a statement to the media, that this production unit which ensures the supply of market in several pharmaceutical products, “produces for the first time since independence a vaccine against seasonal flu, in partnership with a foreign partner”.
Hadji added that at the end of the technology transfer currently underway with this foreign partner, Saidal “will ensure the production of vaccines locally, in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at achieving national health security”.
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Minister Delegate in charge of Pharmaceutical Production, visited, in the morning, the Biotechnology Research Center (CRBT), in the administrative district of Ali Mendjeli, as well as as a start-up specialized in cellular analysis (proteomic technology platform) and an experimental research station in the agricultural field (legumes, wheat, vegetables, fruits, etc.).
The ministerial delegation also visited, still at the CRBT, an exhibition of start-ups where certificates of location were given to young start-ups, before laying the first stone of a new production unit for hormonal drugs, under the Laboratories of the LDM Group, in El Khroub.
