On November 15 and 16, the Poitiers University Hospital hosted two major meetings between patients, their loved ones and healthcare teams. These events, organized respectively by the associations ELLYE (Ensemble Leucémie, Lymphomas Espoir) and AF3M (Association Francophone des Malades du Myéloma Multiple), brought together more than 250 people around themes linked to lymphomas, LLC and Myeloma.
These days were an opportunity for patients to ask their questions, share their experiences and be informed about the latest medical news and advances. The health professionals, hematologists, pharmacist, dietitian and psychologist, provided clear and personalized answers to the participants’ questions. The topics covered were varied: clinical trials, treatments, diet, psychological impact of the disease, etc.
These meetings demonstrate the desire of the Poitiers University Hospital to promote dialogue between patients and healthcare professionals. The support provided by the establishment to patient associations is essential to guarantee the quality of life of patients and their loved ones.
The representatives sent their warm thanks to the doctors, paramedical teams, supportive care and the Meeting and Information Space for their mobilization. Patients and relatives expressed their complete satisfaction, both with the quality of the interventions and with the organization.
Building on the success of these events, the Poitiers University Hospital and partner associations are already planning to repeat the experience next year. These regular meetings are a key element in improving the care of patients with hematological malignancies and promoting their well-being. Poitiers University Hospital would like to thank the associations for their trust and dedication to serving patients and families.
