MCPLC defended its projects with its partners to reduce diabetes and obtained support for the actions it intends to carry out. The mission consists of being able to purchase a mobile medical office, a truck of a certain size with the capacity to work towards population and medication screening and finance a digital application, the telephone being an important element for spread the message of diabetes awareness. The other challenge to overcome is to finance a sports and health center whose aim is to prevent the various risks.
The presence of the representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) demonstrates its support for the initiative to raise funds for the fight against this disease. “ We know that for many people with diabetes, a lack of resources constitutes one of the obstacles to quality care and, in particular, to essential medications including insulin. It prevents the achievement of the objective linked to universal health coverage and SDG 3 relating to better health and the promotion of well-being. This is why we congratulate the commitment and determination of the MCPLC association for this resource mobilization initiative. », Commented Vincent Dossou Sodjinou.
The evening, which is a continuation of the celebration of World Disease Control Day, November 14, on the theme “Diabetes and well-being”, also allowed the WHO to support advocacy to promote, beyond diabetes, prevention against non-communicable and communicable diseases. “ Together, we are committed to mobilizing sufficient resources to build health promotion strategies in our country for healthier communities that are more resilient to public health problems. », Specified the WHO representative.
Like other partners, the director general of NSIA wanted everyone to be involved in reducing the disease while emphasizing physical activity as a means of prevention.“We know that the situation is critical, but as we have proven with the Mayombe Crossing, we believe that we can reverse the trend. At NSIA, we have decided not to be mere spectators of this phenomenon, but agents of change.
