Labeling of national reference networks for rare adult cancers, integrating the organization of double reading of malignant tumors in children – Calls for projects

The National Cancer Institute is launching a call for applications aimed at labeling national reference networks for rare cancers.

17 reference networks for rare cancers have been certified since 2019. Their objective is to avoid loss of opportunity for sick people suffering from a rare cancer, wherever they reside in the territory and whatever their place of treatment. , ensuring:

  • A definitive diagnosis by double reading of their tumor samples (adult and child) when this rereading is justified;
  • An adapted treatment thanks to the discussion of their file in an expert multidisciplinary consultation meeting (RCP “rare cancers”).

The labeling of these networks expires in 2025, which is why the Institute is launching a new call for applications for:

  • Reassess the organization and operation of the 17 existing networks;
  • Standardize practices within these organizations;
  • Potentially mobilize two new candidate networks for rare kidney cancers and blastema tumors in children.
