The Health Carrétou, prevention almost at home

Six initial experimental tours were organized on the territory of the Professional Territorial Health Community of South Aveyron (CPTS) with a final date in this Friday, November 29. The opportunity to take stock.

In 2023, the Regional Health Agency (ARS) and the communities of communes of southern Aveyron have entrusted the management of the Local Health Contract (CLS) to the Grands Causses Regional Natural Park. This CLS, which extends from 2024 to 2029, is based on four axes: environmental health, mental health, access to care and mobility, and health promotion and prevention.

It is straddling these last two axes that the Carrétou de la santé was born. In June 2023, the Park positioned itself as a candidate for the TIMS (Territory Inclusion Mobility Sobriety) call for projects. It aims to deploy eco-mobility and solidarity solutions to populations far from services. The CLS diagnosis and the citizens’ health committee had already highlighted mobility as an issue for access to health, with the desire to develop “moving towards”.

After Séverac, Saint-Georges-de-Luzençon, Saint-Affrique, Camarès and Coupiac, the Carrétou de la santé has just completed its first experimental tour in Millau this Friday, November 29, on the market in the morning and in front of the club of friendship in the afternoon.

Targeted over 60s

Located on the Place des Halles between the poultry and the caterer, the Carrétou de la santé intrigues passers-by. Lucie Bousquet, CLS coordinator, Cassandre, inclusive eco-mobility advisor are on all the tours. That day, Laurie for the Seniors Info Point, Léa for Altriane and Marie-Laure, a private nurse in Séverac, meet for a common goal: “raise public awareness”.

“Every time, it’s a different staffexplains Lucie Bousquet. In all, around forty partners joined the system. In November, the tour focused on the theme of vulnerability among people over 60. Staff had to be trained in the Icop system, a WHO program run by the gerontopôle in partnership with the ARS.”

The van, decorated in the Carrétou colors, looks, inside, like a camper van. Two benches face each other, separated by a table and storage space covers the walls. “This first tour should allow us to define the needs to equip it with small equipment”we specify.

There, the volunteers responded to a 30-minute interview to test their skills. If no worrying situation is detected, a reassessment must be carried out after six months. Otherwise, treatment is organized with the attending physician.

Other dates to come

Until September 2026, two tours per month must be scheduled. One is individual with dedicated assessments like the next one planned for Rougier with optical assessments – and the other is collective via group workshops on the themes of physical activities, diet, mental health and well-being. -be daily.

“There is this desire to move towards, favoring rural areas but with the mobility aspect, we also want to tend towards bringing it towards”insists Lucie Bousquet. Beyond directing towards digital platforms and the right contacts, on-demand transport in the form of solidarity carpooling must be launched in 2025, just like car sharing between individuals.
