If you purchased Les Essentiels brand soup, you should not consume it. The Rappel Conso site, managed by the ministries of the economy, agriculture and ecological transition, has published an alert concerning ready-made soups and sauces of this brand, sold in delicatessens. It was published this Wednesday, November 27.
Consumer reminder: what products are affected?
The alert concerns several products from the Les Essentiels brand. Zucchini soup with coriander, sold in 480 ml format, is one of the recalled foods. Its reference is GTIN 3700600314312 Lot L219-23-CO, and its marketing started on August 17, 2023, with a minimum durability date established at August 30, 2026.
Red lentil soup is also recalled. Sold in the same format, it has the reference GTIN 3700600314343 Lot L219-23-COR. It was distributed from August 30, 2024. Finally, the organic basil sun vegetable soup is also affected. Its reference is GTIN 3700600314336 Lot L219-23-LEG. It was marketed from August 17, 2023 and until November 19.
Two tomato sauces are also recalled: that with organic Espelette pepper, bearing the reference GTIN 3700600314497, and that with organic basil, bearing the reference GTIN 3700600314350.
Why are these products recalled?
For these different products, the authorities noted sterilization defects. “These products were manufactured and/or stored in conditions that do not allow guarantees to be provided. satisfactory sanitary conditions, warns the Rappel Conso press release. These products are therefore likely to present a danger to the health of consumers..” Thus, it is reminded that they must not be consumed, but destroyed. A refund may be requested.
What are the risks in the event of sterilization failure?
Consuming poorly sterilized products can be dangerous for your health.
