6th edition of the Youth Assembly, December 5, 2024

Lauda Guidicelli-Sbraggia, Executive Councilor of Corsica in charge of youth and sport, will open the 6th edition of the “Assise di a Ghjuventù”, on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 9:00 a.m., at the Faculty of Sciences, Grimaldi campus of the University of Corsica, in Corti.

Through its Pattu di a Ghjuventù, the Corsican Community considers each young person as an actor in their own destiny and that of the island. Thus, the “Assise di a Ghjuventù” aims each year to give a voice to young people in order to evaluate and co-construct youth policy, by exploring new themes through different workshops. This year, “the well-being of young people” will be the main theme.

Nearly 300 young people aged 11 to 30 are expected to participate in workshops addressing the challenges linked to their lifestyle. This meeting is of particular importance in this Olympic year, marked by the passage of the Olympic Flame in Corsica. The Assise di a Ghjuventù are part of this dynamic by promoting physical activity and raising awareness of the health benefits of sport.

Themes covered include:

  • Well-being and mental balance : raise awareness about mental health and share advice and good well-being practices.
  • Active lifestyle and fight against a sedentary lifestyle : reduce the effects of a sedentary lifestyle and encourage physical activity.
  • Dietary balance : educate about a healthy and balanced diet through well-being courses.

The day is structured around four axes:

  • Physical activity : encourage movement.
  • Food : understand the importance of a balanced diet.
  • Mental health : manage stress and strengthen self-esteem.
  • Prevention of risky behavior : the dangers of addictions and screens.

The workshops will be led by the Youth and Sport Department, STAPS students, health professionals and other services from the Corsican Community. In addition, exchanges will allow young people to address health issues and share experiences, promoting collective reflection on well-being.

This day will offer participants concrete tools to improve their daily well-being, and will encourage them to make positive changes for better physical and mental health. Professor François Carré, President of the “ en forme” collective, will be present, as well as Corsican trail runners Guillaume Peretti and Julie Marini, godfather and godmother of this edition.
