Cécile Fabre creates “Loucire”, a nourishing body treatment, rich in essential oils.
Preserving the planet is clearly a constant within the Fabre family. The worthy successors of Louis Fabre, independent winemaker, strive to respect natural balances. Clémence and Jeanne continue to cultivate organic vines; André is developing agroforestry, considering that planting trees, particularly fruit trees, promotes biodiversity. As for the youngest, Cécile, after exploring the world of perfumes, she has just created her own company, Loucire, which plans to market specific candles. After a career in marketing and perfume creation, she discovered the benefits of essential oils. “These natural and powerful oils prove beneficial for health. So I wanted to make their use easier; but how? I said to myself ‘we need to create a product that is easy to use’. I really like candles and finds it quite frustrating that the wax which goes into smoke is ultimately lost. In addition, the paraffin contained in the candles is a petroleum derivative, once the candle is consumed, the ambient air is not necessarily healthy;explains Cécile Fabre.
A cosmetic candle
After long months of research in the cosmetic laboratory, the young entrepreneur perfected the precious formula of a candle “pleasant for the skin. Once lit, you just have to wait a quarter of an hour for the candle to transform into oil. Then, you can apply this warm oil directly to the skin to nourish it”. What is the secret of this precious ointment? “It’s a mixture of butter and vegetable oil. There’s a little carnauba wax… and of course essential oils. I wanted all the ingredients to be good for the skin. It’s a product cosmetic above all, in the form of a candle. The temperature promotes penetration into the epidermis..
An innovative product which comes in three different candles: the O candle, as an opening, that of the mind, to combat migraines, promote concentration and memory. Candle C, calm, relaxation, to break with problems of insomnia and stress and finally candle I, that of intensity, to relieve muscular problems and osteoarthritis. Zero waste required, each candle is packaged in a small fabric care towel which can be reused. The candle wax is packaged in earthenware pots made by a local potter. As for the wicks, they are limited to small pieces of beech wood, made by Esat Jean-Cahuc in Lézignan. Everything is stamped with the logo of the new company “Loucire”, a name from Mexico, the country where Cécile lived for 4 years: the Spanish verb “brightness“, shine in French, seduced the designer.
