The Health Department publishes its weekly retrospective concerning the evolution of the main acute respiratory infections, including COVID-19, influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and whooping cough.
COVID-19 / SARS-CoV-2: slight increase in the number of cases
During week 45, from November 4 to 10, 2024, the number of positive SARS-CoV-2 cases increases slightly, from 101 to 104 cases, an increase of 3% compared to the previous week.
However, the viral concentration detected in wastewater showed a decrease [1].
The latest available sequencing data reveals that the KP.3 variant remained predominant in September.[2]
Flu (Influenza): increase in the number of cases
The number of influenza cases reported by laboratories also increased, from 11 to 28 cases, while remaining at a low level. During the last four weeks, there have been 54% influenza A and 46% influenza B among the typed results.
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV): increasing number of cases
For RSV, an increase was observed, with 24 confirmed cases, compared to 19 the previous week.
Whooping cough: low level of number of cases
The number of cases of whooping cough, for its part, recorded a drop, from 4 cases to 3.
