On the occasion of the World Diabetes Daythe Le Havre Hospital Group (GHH) is organizing Thursday November 14, 2024a screening session in the La Lézarde shopping arcade in Montivilliers.
Objective: to allow you to be informed and screened for this pathology which affects nearly 3.6 million people in France according to Public Health France. On site, people will be welcomed by health professionals.
The diagnosis is made usinga blood test which will allow measuring the sugar level in your blood. LThe GHH team will be on hand to answer questions and provide information on the means available to treat this pathology.
What is diabetes?
It is a chronic disease characterized by excess sugar in the blood called hyperglycemia. There are two types:
– Type 1: due to a lack of insulin secretion from the pancreas
– Type 2: due to poor use of insulin by the body’s cells.
Practical information:
Free diabetes screening is organized in the La Lézarde shopping mall in Montivilliers, this Thursday, November 14, 2024, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
