The association La Balade de Titouan, based in Plœmeur (Morbihan), was founded in 2019 by the grandparents of Titouan, a young boy suffering from a rare and severe epileptic syndrome. Its main objective is to finance care and treatments not covered by Social Security, in order to improve the daily life of Titouan, who will be 8 years old. The association organized, with the support of the Market de Plœmeur brand, an operation to raise funds. It took place last May, as part of the 13e edition Les curls du Cœur. “ As part of Boucles du Cœur, each Carrefour store can mobilize to raise funds for a local association that is close to their heart, explains director Florent Bougerol. This is the 2e time we support this association. It’s a great cause. The company’s employees know Titouan and it is a pleasure to see the progress he makes, year after year. » The tidy sum of €3,365 was given to Titouan’s mother.
In perpetual progress
« This will help us continue the care of Titouan, which is multiple and costly, explains Johanne, her mother. But progress is there. Recently, he has started to be able to eat on his own. Another novelty, he discovered cuddling and he is not stingy with signs of affection. Thanks to this donation, we will be able to continue brain stimulation at the Brain Moove center in Pleurtuit, but also weekly equine therapy sessions. It’s amazing how the horse soothes him. It’s the only time he can stay calm and focused for this long (almost an hour). He created an incredible bond with his horse Atol. An educator also comes to the home twice a week to teach him how to wash and dress himself, as well as an occupational therapist. »
The parents are still waiting, due to lack of space, for a place in a medical-educational institute (IME).
