90% digital installations

In Normandy, 90% of installations are now digital. The sensors directly convert the X-ray stream into an electrical signal which is then digitized and transferred to the screen. The ARS supports the development of this technology.

Mammography, a 100% covered examination

Mammography may be performed as part of a screening or diagnostic test for breast cancer. In the first case, the examination aims to detect a cancer that is still too small to be detected by a self-examination or a doctor. In the second case, the goal is to accurately determine the size and location of the lesion. The examination makes it possible to reproduce images of the tissue and surrounding lymph nodes.

All women aged 50 to 74 in the region are invited by Health Insurance, every two years, to have a screening mammogram, 100% covered and with no advance cost.
