At 25, Carine changes location, work and environment, in search of a new life after cancer.
And it is in the commune that she will follow her path, opening a new page, that of a dynamic young woman sensitive to the isolation in which patients and caregivers find themselves when illness takes hold.
Registered with the League against Cancer since 2006, now an employee of the same organization, she is responsible for developing research and collecting donations. As she likes to run, it was very natural that she had the idea of creating a race against cancer which, started in 2011 with 100 people, in 2024, had 1,200 people on the starting line.
This event can only take place with the help of volunteers, numbering 750 in the department, who give their time to the League Against Cancer.
The missions of the League against cancer
The League Against Cancer 34 is departmental. It operates essentially with the generosity of the public, donations and legacies collected during all events.
They make it possible to finance research, prevention which takes place in companies and schools, social support, mobilization of society, and stopovers of which there are four in the department: in Montpellier, Béziers, Gignac and Bédarieux .
These are non-medical places for well-being, free for people with cancer and their loved ones, with services and activities which are essential support for patients and caregivers.
Carine, with her enthusiasm and the unwavering support of her husband and her young eleven-year-old son, is ready to continue this work full of humanity which fascinates her.
