Prevention, vaccines, barrier gestures…
This season, two preventive treatments are used against bronchiolitis. The first is Beyfortus from AstraZeneca and Sanofi, an antibody given to infants. The second is Pfizer’s Abrysvo, a vaccine for pregnant women before giving birth. After a first campaign last year, Beyfortus showed its effectiveness in reducing child hospitalizations in France and other countries. Furthermore, Public Health France is closely monitoring Covid and seasonal flu; a joint vaccination campaign began in mid-October for people at risk. She also reminds us of the importance of barrier gestures to protect ourselves this winter.
