An American study tells men the ideal number of ejaculations to have each month in order to maintain good health and avoid certain diseases such as prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer is the third leading cause of death in men, just behind lung cancer and colorectal cancer. It is the most diagnosed male cancer in France and in the rest of the Western world. Each year in our country, around 50,000 people are affected by this disease for almost 10,000 deaths.
However, it is possible to reduce the risks, with doctors recommending the practice of sport, a balanced and healthy diet as well as regular screenings. However, researchers at the University of Public Health in Boston (United States) have found another means of prevention.
A survey was carried out on 32,000 men regarding their sexual habits. “We found that men who reported higher ejaculation frequency scores as adults were less likely to later be diagnosed with prostate cancer.” explained Jennifer Rider, leader of the study published in the journal European Urology in December 2016.
An ideal monthly number of ejaculations was provided by the researchers. By having 21 ejaculations each month, it would then be possible to reduce the risk of prostate cancer by 33%. Practice plays a major role in the elimination of certain toxins, but researchers still put things into perspective and indicate that the best way to stay in good health is to play sports and have good dietary hygiene.
In addition to the benefits for preventing prostate cancer, researchers point out that ejaculation frequency could also have a positive impact on men’s mental health and general well-being. Indeed, this activity would promote the release of endorphins, hormones known to reduce stress and improve mood. This reduction in stress, combined with regular sexual activity, could contribute to a more resilient immune system and better quality of life.
Furthermore, researchers highlight the importance of regularity in sexual activity for maintaining good cardiovascular health. According to their observations, a high ejaculation frequency could contribute to better blood circulation and a reduction in blood pressure. By stimulating the heart and promoting good tissue oxygenation, this activity would have a protective effect against certain heart disorders.
