For the second year in a row, the vaccination campaign jointly against the seasonal flu and the Covid 19 was launched “with the main objective of protecting the most fragile populations”, specifies a press release from the ministry.
And to add that the campaign targets the same audiences, likely to develop a serious form of these maladiesincluding, among others, people aged 65 and over, those suffering from certain chronic diseases orobesity and the pregnant women.
This year, more than 17.2 million people are invited to be vaccinated against these two viruses, “a simple gesture” which “remains the most effective way to prevent serious forms of flu infections and Covid 19,” assures the same source.
The ministry recalls in this regard that during the 2023-2024 season, among serious cases of flu and Covid 19 admitted to resuscitation“the vast majority of people were not vaccinated against virus even though they presented risk factors. Hence the launch of this information campaign to convince people of a key message: “vaccination: essential winter protection”.
