Avian influenza: reinforced measures in 22 municipalities in

The level of risk for highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI), a viral disease that affects birds and poultry, has gone from “negligible” to “moderate” across the entire metropolitan area since October 16.

This decision, indicates the prefecture, leads to the implementation of reinforced prevention and biosecurity measures in several sectors.
In Loiret, the zones at particular risk (ZRP) concern 22 municipalities in Sologne, “where natural conditions increase the risk of contamination of farms by wildlife”.

Shelter for poultry

This requires sheltering poultry (this involves netting or confining poultry of all species, including backyards). Measures concerning hunting are also applied: restrictions on the transport and employment of decoys; clinical examination by a veterinarian and virological analysis before the release of game birds. The restriction also provides for the ban on gatherings of birds.

The municipalities concerned in Loiret are as follows: Ardon, Baule, Beaugency, Cerdon, Cléry-Saint-André, Coullons, Dry, La Ferté-Saint-Aubin, Isdes, Jouy-le-Potier, Lailly-en-Val, Ligny -le-Ribault, Marcilly-en-Villette, Menestreau-en-Villette, Mézières-lez-Cléry, Saint-Cyr-en-Val, Sennely, Tavers, Tigy, -sur-Cosson, -en-Val, Villemurlin .

The Sologne municipalities of Loir-et-Cher and Cher are also affected by these measures. In the region, this is also the case for Brenne (Indre), the Eure valley and the Berry sector of Bec d’Allier.
