Vaccination campaign against respiratory viruses in

The Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS) of announces the launch of the vaccination campaign against respiratory viruses, such as COVID-19 and influenza.

Vaccination will begin on Wednesday October 16 for the entire population and appointments are already available on Clic Santé.

Why get vaccinated?

“Vaccination is essential to protect individuals most vulnerable to serious complications linked to respiratory infections,” explains Kahina Slimani, director of access to front-line services, in a press release. It is also recommended for anyone who wants to help stop the spread of viruses in the community. In addition, a new COVID-19 vaccine, designed to provide protection against currently circulating variants, will be available.”

Vaccination is offered free of charge to all people aged six months or older who request it.

The vaccine is particularly recommended for people who are more likely to present complications, such as people who are immunosuppressed or on dialysis, people with chronic diseases (cardiac, pulmonary, diabetes, significant obesity, etc.), pregnant women (2nd and 3rd quarters), people aged 60 and over and healthcare workers.

Appointment

Making an appointment is simple and accessible to everyone via Clic Santé (clicsante.ca) or by calling 1 877 644-4545 from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

It is possible to receive the flu vaccine and the COVID-19 vaccine at the same appointment.

Mobile teams will go directly to accommodation settings, such as CHSLDs and intermediate resources (IR), to offer vaccination against respiratory viruses.
