The CCSB takes part in the fight against the tiger mosquito

It is a two-year cycle of tiger mosquito prevention which opens for the Saône Beaujolais Community of Communes (CCSB). Prevention and action campaigns have so far multiplied in the territory but the municipal council of Belleville-en-Beaujolais has recently “took a new step in its fight against the proliferation of the parasite“, declared Frédéric Pronchéry, mayor of Belleville-en-Beaujolais.

In partnership with the Department of Rhône and theRhône-Alpes interdepartmental agreement for mosquito control (Eirad), the next part of prevention and action against the tiger mosquito will consist of the theoretical training for intermunicipal staff and the second in support of the municipality in the implementation of the action plan against the tiger mosquito.

Limit the impact of the tiger mosquito

The tiger mosquito will establish itself throughout Europe. It is important that there is a lot of action and awareness, particularly within communities“, affirmed Frédéric Pronchéry, before recalling that to the extent that treatment is neither authorized nor good for humans, it is important, failing that, to act for the limitation of the impact of the tiger mosquito.

Indeed, to the extent that the tiger mosquito is diurnalunlike the mosquitoes that Europe was used to having until now, the treatment processes obviously cannot be the same.

The training program will include eight half days of training additional costs and will be subject to a balance of 2,205 euros for the CCSB.

Prevention against the tiger mosquito focused on private places

The mayor also wanted to emphasize that the diagnosis made in the Belleville sector had revealed very few corrections to be made, thus highlighting the fruits of the educational and prevention work carried out so far.

Let us also remember that very few anomalies were noted on public sites and that most of the corrections concern housing estates and private places in general.
