2030 – major mental health cause: open…

Axis 1 “Innovation & Research on digital MDs in mental health serving patients, caregivers, professionals”: A network of digital mental health stakeholders will be structured to support the development, experimentation, evaluation, maturation and deployment of digital innovations in mental health. It will bring together users (patients, caregivers, professionals, establishments), solution designers and entrepreneurs, academics, institutions, funders and evaluators.

Axis 4 “Awareness raising and training of users and mental health professionals”: This axis aims to create initial and continuing digital training courses in mental health for professionals and patients, in collaboration with the CNUP, the CNPP, patient associations and peer caregivers.

A committee of experts, made up of representatives of patients, professionals, establishments, organizations and institutions in mental health, has been set up since the first quarter of 2024 to constitute the action plan, the calls project, the selection procedure, support and monitoring of projects.

As part of the Grand Défi “Digital medical devices in mental health”, a large-scale call for projects is launched, with 10 million euros, spread over two annual waves between 2024 and 2026.

This system aims to identify, evaluate and finance innovative digital projects, meeting the mental health needs of the general population, patients, caregivers, as well as health professionals and establishments. The objective is to transform users’ care and life pathways using digital devices, by addressing key themes such as psychological, addictive or neurodevelopmental disorders.

By bringing together patients, professionals, designers and evaluators, this call promotes an unprecedented collaboration to co-develop and evaluate the clinical, organizational, economic, ethical and real-life impact of these innovations, in order to improve prevention, diagnosis, remote mental health care and monitoring.

The targeted developments cover three stages:

  • Stade 1 : Development of future digital medical devices (DMN) in mental health

  • Stade 2 : Clinical evaluation with a view to obtaining CE marking for the future DMN

  • Stade 3 : Budgetary impact analysis study in the envisaged mental health indication

Particular attention will be paid to projects that can meet the specific needs of children, adolescents and young adults in terms of screening, prevention, diagnosis, care, monitoring and recovery.

The selected projects will be financed over a period ranging from 12 to 36 months maximum for a planned expenditure base of between 600,000 and 3 million euros. In order to answer questions from project leaders, webinars will be organized in the coming weeks.
