“From our farm in Touraine, between two goat cheeses, we have an important message to pass on for an association” : this is how Maria, from Bodin’s, begins a video of support for Rose en marchefounded by gynecologist Michel Kapella in Guéret. The video, one minute longis broadcast as part of Pink October, the month of the fight against breast cancer.
Her kerchief on her head, next to her son Christian, Maria continues: “Girls, listen to me, you who have beautiful breasts, like me in the past (…): go get tested, it’s important for your health!” Only small hiccup: the comic duo got the name of the association wrong… which they renamed “Pink October”. But gynecologist Michel Kapella is categorical: it’s for Rose en marche that the Bodin’s shot this video.
Based in Guéret, Rose en marche raises awareness of breast screening and self-examination. Volunteers also support breast cancer patients. The association welcomes women without appointmentduring “papot cafés”, which attract around ten people each time.
