Charpennes hospital is looking for healthy volunteers as part of a study on spatial navigation during aging

The Institute of Aging of the Hospices Civils de and the Laboratory of InfoRmatics in Image and Information Systems (LIRIS) are jointly carrying out scientific research on the capabilities of spatial navigation, that is to say orientation in the ‘space. The aim is to find out whether age, Alzheimer’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease risk factors can influence spatial orientation strategies.



HCL and LIRIS are currently looking for healthy volunteers, women and men, aged 20 to 85 years oldto take part in this study.

What is space navigation?
These are the functions of the brain which, on a daily basis, when we walk in known or unknown places, allow us to locate ourselves, orient ourselves and move effectively from a starting point to an arrival point. During this research, volunteers will be asked to play a video game where they will play the captain of a boat who must move around a setting, following the instructions on a card.

What does participation involve?
The research team welcomes volunteers at the Charpennes hospital, in , from Monday to Friday. Participation in this study lasts approximately 1 hour during which the volunteer will play 6 different levels of the video game. He will also take cognition tests and answer questions about his lifestyle habits. A blood test will also be taken.

men or women aged 20 to 85, without a diagnosed cognitive disorder or severe or decompensated psychiatric pathology

Duration : a single 1 hour visit
Compensation of 30 euros is provided for participation in this study.
