Pink October: record participation to run against cancer

The public responded in large numbers – despite gloomy weather – to take part in the pink run and walk for the benefit of the League Against Cancer. Last year’s record for the number of participants was largely beaten with 2,950 registered compared to 1,950 last year. And there were probably just as many people who came with the runners and walkers.

It was a real moment of sharing between everyone for this goal of fighting against breast disease and cancer. About ten minutes before departure, a musical warm-up to the sound of the saxophone prepared the athletes of the day.

The head of the Agath branch of the League Against Cancer Sylviane Peyret said she was delighted with the success of this day: “I can only thank all the participants who responded in large numbers to this event. I must also highlight the volunteers who participated, almost a hundred, between the flaggers and the sale of the various products, registrations, etc. This goes straight to our hearts, a real recognition for this cause.”.

Same feeling for Mayor Sébastien Frey who started the race with part of his municipal team: “It is a moving demonstration of solidarity, organized by volunteers who must be thanked.”

Throughout the month of October, events are always scheduled for the same cause with sporting events, music, yoga, walking, golf, ticket sales in hypermarkets and much more.
