CHALON HOSPITAL – Women’s Heart Day takes place on Tuesday October 15 – info-chalon.com

In addition to its historic screening action for the Women’s Heart Bus, the Agir pour le Coeur des Femmes endowment fund is embarking on a new screening operation this year: Women’s Heart Day.

It is in this context that the William Morey hospital center will host this new action for the benefit of local women on 10/15/2024 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the hall in partnership with Health Insurance.

The screening is completely free but requires prior registration on Doctolib:

The organization of this day is coordinated by Doctor Louis Magali, hospital doctor and expert ambassador for Agir pour le Coeur des Femmes, with the mobilization of the cardiology and gynecology-obstetrics services of the hospital center.

A real societal and medical emergency, there are still 200 women dying from cardiovascular diseases every day in .

To compensate for the lack of permanent healthcare in certain regions and complement the action of the Women’s Heart Bus, which has already enabled nearly 10,000 women to be screened, this day offers all those who wish, a free cardiovascular and gynecological screening.

This day plays an innovative and major role in the prevention and screening of cardiovascular diseases among the most vulnerable women. Bringing prevention into healthcare establishments, it promotes and accelerates the implementation of comprehensive and effective care pathways with a single objective: prevention rather than cure.

The teams of health professionals mobilized to make this 6-step screening day a real innovation, in partnership with Health Insurance. Alongside the screening, a health and well-being area will be set up, offering information and advice on the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, balanced diet, physical activity and stress management. This space will be run by local associations and health professionals.

About Acting for the Hearts of Women

Acting for the Heart of Women was born from the association between Pr. Claire Mounier-Véhier, cardiologist at University Hospital and professor of vascular medicine at the University of Lille and Thierry Drilhon, administrator and business manager, co-founders of ‘Agir pour le Coeur des Femmes/Women’s Cardiovascular Healthcare Foundation. They united their medical, scientific, societal and economic expertise, making cardiovascular diseases in women a health priority in the face of this epidemiological emergency.

Because cardiovascular diseases still kill 200 women in France and 25,000 women worldwide every day, Agir pour le Coeur des Femmes wants to mobilize on this medical and societal emergency by reducing cardiovascular mortality among women. Here are the priority actions to save the lives of 10,000 women within 5 years:

– The development of care pathways for the care of women bringing together cardiologists, vascular doctors, gynecologists, obstetricians, general practitioners, pharmacists, midwives and all health stakeholders.

– The integration of modules dedicated to cardiovascular diseases in women in training programs for health professionals.

– Communication, awareness and screening campaigns to help women acquire preventive reflexes and recognize the warning symptoms of cardiovascular diseases.
