The importance of breast cancer screening

At the André-Damour de Gourzon village hall, a conference was held to raise awareness about breast cancer, Friday September 27. The event was organized by the Breast Surgery Support Association, and hosted by Dr. Tryoren.

The mayor of Bayard-sur-, Bruno Prévot, thanked the organizers of this evening as well as the public, composed mainly of women, knowing that breast cancer concerns them or has already affected them.

Dr. Tryoren, opening the meeting, emphasized the importance of breast cancer screening, encouraging regular mammograms between the ages of 50 and 75 and learning to feel the breasts with simple gestures, of which he demonstrated. He also gave statistics on participation in breast cancer screening in Haute-Marne, which is well positioned compared to the national average.

Bayard-sur-Marne will continue its actions to fight against breast cancer with the Bayard Firefighters Association, by raising funds during a family walk of approximately 8 km, accessible to all, as well as a mountain bike route of approximately 11 km, which will take place on Sunday October 13. Registrations will be made on site, in front of the fire station, for a fee of €5 per registration.

Catering and a refreshment bar will be offered, and waffles cooked over a wood fire.
