Have you received your letter from the Quebec Breast Cancer Screening Program? Please note that you can have a mammogram at a designated screening clinic in our territory.
How does the program work?
As part of the Quebec Breast Cancer Screening Program (PQDCS), a letter is sent to all women, from the age of 50. This letter is in fact a prescription to have a mammogram and gives all the information necessary to make an appointment at one of the screening centers. It is therefore not necessary to see a doctor to be part of the program.
It is the Régie de l’assurance santé du Québec (RAMQ) which transmits the names and addresses of Quebec women aged between 50 and 74 to those responsible for the PQDCS. If you have not received your letter or have lost it, contact the Regional Service Coordination Center (RSCC) in your region.
Note, however, that although the invitation is automatic, membership in the program is not. In fact, membership is only activated when you go to the screening center and sign the authorization form to communicate the results.
