final preparations for the Baraboobs

In the workshop of the seamstress Émeline Husson, of the Émeline Émeline company, it’s time final fittings this Wednesday October 2, 2024, before the Baraboobs this Saturday October 5.

This year, Émeline Husson asked Severine Magin-Revoy to be her muse for the third edition of the event. “ Every year, I change my muse because unfortunately there are many people with breast cancer. », explains the seamstress.

A festive event despite illness

Because for those who don’t know the event, the Baraboobs is a festive event. « Since 2020, I was involved in an association linked to Pink October, but in 2022, it did not ask me so I asked myself what I could do? I contacted Max du Banana and Rodolphe du Vert Bock and we imagined the Baraboobs! »

This Saturday, the meeting is given at 2 p.m. at Vert Bock. On site, it will be possible to talk with Severine Magin-Revoy, affected by numerous cancers to the point where “2024 did not exist for [elle]I had warned Émeline to look for a plan B ».

The Show Boulettes will give a concert. There will also be a wish tree for all those affected directly or indirectly by the disease and sales of goodies made by local artists such as wooden pines, lollipops in the shape of breasts, jewelry or even Frountz, produced by Severine Magin-Revoy herself. Please note that all profits made during the day will be donated to the Ardennes Resource Center.

The procession will leave, accompanied by the Funk Jazz Gang group, around 5 p.m. with a break on Place Ducale. With in particular Severine Magin-Revoy, officially in remission for just a month, and her dress/cape which represents trees of life. “ Severine has trees of life tattooed on her, it represents renewal, the force of life so I used this symbol for her outfit », confides Émeline Husson. The rest of the procession will be made up of people selected via social networks.

« I offered women affected in one way or another by breast cancer to wear my creations. These are only women I don’t know, who have very different stories from each other », adds the seamstress. “ But men are obviously welcome too! »

“I want people to understand why they need to take care of themselves”

Then the day will continue from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Quai de la Maline with a red carpet parade of Émeline Husson’s creations around her muse Severine, a DJ set and a concert by the Funky Jazz Gang. Émeline Husson explains: “ With this event, I have no pretensions about anything. I feel the need to do it as a mission to help people heal, to feel better about themselves despite the illness. I want people to understand why they need to take care of themselves! »
