Ophthalmology doctors are increasingly difficult to find in the city, an aging population… To meet the needs of patients in Center Manche, the Saint-Lô Memorial Hospital (Manche) has already been offering, for two years, two half-days of consultations per week.

The partnership with practitioners from University Hospital will expand the slots to four half-days from November thanks to the visits of a doctor from Caen. Also with access to surgery directly in Saint-Lô.

“As of this Friday, October 4, 2024, announces Delphine Godefroy, executive in the surgery center and co-pilot of the project for the Memorial Hospital, Dr Mohamed Sfaxi will give interventions every Friday. » Four patients can be treated each week while waiting to increase to eight soon.

From November, consultations will also be open to the general public for people over 50. Make an appointment by calling the switchboard and asking for the ophthalmology secretariat.
