HEALTH / In these new premises, we find the head office but also the League space where patients receive supportive care during or after illness. They can also find completely free workshops there.

The League Against Cancer, a great lady almost 110 years old that we would like to see disappear. More than a century, yet it has not lost either its energy or its tenacity to fight against this scourge, the leading cause of mortality in France. In this month of pink October, for the fight against breast cancer, the League against cancer in the Alpes de Haute-Provence inaugurated its new premises, chemin des Alpilles in Digne les Bains. The head office is based there, as well as the League Space to provide supportive care, during and after illness.
Leave the hospital setting
A new space to better welcome patients, “ the premises are outside the hospital »underlines Josiane Priam, president of the league against cancer 04. And this is not a detail according to her, “ patients and former patients fear returning to the hospital grounds when they need supportive care.”

In these new premises, they will therefore be able to find the League space “ where there is supportive care, this care offered to patients who live in our department regardless of the place where the care is provided to them “. All workshops are free, the League therefore offers aesthetic and socio-hair care, discussion groups, individual interviews with a psychologist, sophrology, reflexology and even adapted physical gymnastics.
The League Against Cancer 04 also has a space in Peipin. This new place, which will have cost 336,000 euros, will have received 50% support from the Region. Finally, know that the League is proposing a social commission, to help families in the department who have been made precarious by the disease. Last year, 23,000 euros were granted.
