Pink October Day at the Dreux Hospital (Eure-et-Loir) this Thursday October 3, 2024 ! And like every year, the entire month of October will be dedicated to breast cancer awareness.

For this, numerous actions are organized national level in order to encourage the general public to be screened for this cancer.

Raise awareness and inform about breast cancer

The Pink October campaign is essential to raise public awareness of the importance of early detection of breast cancerwhich remains the leading cause of death by cancer in women.

Each year, around 59,000 new cases are detected in France. However, when the disease is detected early enough, the cure rate exceeds 90%. Thanks to the organization of Pink October each year, nearly 50,000 lives are saved thanks to better prevention and better access to screening.

As part of this campaign, the services of gynecology, maternity et occupational health of the hospital in partnership with the CCAS, the League Against Cancer and the CPAM are organizing a breast cancer screening awareness day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

And flash mob will also be carried out at the end of the morning and will be accessible to all, members of the hospital but also patients and visitors.

This day will allow the public to learn about screening and support procedures, but also to speak directly with professionals about breast cancer. A self-palpation bust will be made available to raise awareness of both preventive actions and signs.

It will also be an opportunity for those present to meet local stakeholders in order to discover the support provided in the region for people suffering from breast cancer or simply for women wishing to be screened.
