The National Health Laboratory opens its doors this Saturday

This Saturday, September 21, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the National Health Laboratory (LNS) opens its doors to the public. An opportunity to delve behind the scenes of this very special establishment in Luxembourg.

Sciences, genetics, forensic medicine… This Saturday, for one day, the general public will be able to immerse themselves in the fascinating environment of one of the major players in health in Luxembourg. During this immersion behind the scenes of the laboratory, many guided tours will be offered to visitors.

They will be able to discover the molecular genetics laboratory, delve into the heart of the national pathology center or enter the fascinating and mysterious world of forensic medicine. A visit to the autopsy room will also be possible.

Fun workshops

Doctors, scientists and experts from different departments will give presentations related to their field of expertise. “What is the role of a pathologist?”, “Why and how is tumor DNA analyzed?”, “What is Pathogen Sequencing?” are the main topics covered during this day.

In addition, information stands will allow young and old alike to take part in practical and fun workshops. The “Health Protection” department will organize a workshop dedicated to the detection of pollutants in the indoor environment.
