The seasonal flu vaccination campaign is extended by one month in France, until the end of February, announced the Ministry of Health. The epidemic is still at a high intensity in mid-January.
Given that “the circulation of influenza viruses is still very active in mainland France and overseas”, “the joint vaccination campaign against influenza and Covid-19 is extended until February 28, 2025”, specifies the press release. . “Frail people are invited to be vaccinated without delay,” specifies the General Directorate of Health.
Increased incidence among younger people
Last week, “subject to future consolidation of data”, the incidence of flu cases seen in general practice was “decreasing slightly”, particularly in adults. But “it remained at a high level of activity”, specifies the sentinel network in its weekly epidemiological surveillance bulletin.
By age groups, the incidence was increasing in children aged 0-14 years for the second consecutive week (following the start of the school year).
