The 1st France Alzheimer and related diseases memory café of the year 2025 has just met. It was an opportunity to take stock of the past year with the last significant events of the month of December such as the conviviality action at Vallon des Rêves in Labéjan and the discovery session of the toy library in Mirande. The volunteers presented the memory café program for the first semester but also the association’s other actions such as: the “relaxation for caregivers” workshop which began last Thursday in the Poor Clares room (registrations with Martine Despax, at 07.89.62.23.62); the “Welcome and listen” service which will take place Thursday January 16, from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., in the Poor Clares room n.2 (information and appointments with Yolande Serra, at 06.88.30.26.82) ; the support group for caregivers (information and registration from Victoire Deltour, doctor of psychology, at 06.33.74.01.92).
The memory café is a space open to the public, it welcomes sick people, caregivers and anyone interested in seeking information and discussion in a relaxed setting and atmosphere. It is important to understand what the disease is, how to apprehend it, anticipate it in order to better communicate with the
sick and to find out about help. These meetings are led by volunteers and enriched by the expertise of a psychologist.
-The volunteers and families who are members of the FA association thanked the municipality of the “helping” town of Mirande for providing the rooms free of charge.
