Celebrations. Holidays. Drinking meals. Christmas is often a time of excess… But you need not worry, because the ideal, life-saving and scientifically proven hangover cure comes down to just five ingredients.

It's that time of year again, and no one likes to be hungover at Christmas.
Everyone has their solution. Black coffee and toast for some, “hair of the dog” or “evil by evil” for others.
Put those options away, because the ideal remedy may have been found.
A British female doctor has shared her 'scientific' hangover sandwich, which promises to rid you of all the jitters the next morning.
Indeed, GP Dr Zoe Williams, in partnership with British bakery Warburtons, has developed the ultimate recipe that contains the nutrients needed to replenish your body with all the essential elements you have lost after a night of drinking.
Dr. Williams explains in a video posted to her Instagram that alcohol dehydrates the body and lowers blood sugar levels and that eating something when you're hungover can help the body recover.
“The Christmas party season is in full swing and my advice is to drink sensibly, but if you're overindulging in alcohol, here's my hangover sandwich,” she said.
What's in this magic sandwich?
Take note. You will only need five ingredients:
- Of painOf course. Williams recommends half white bread and half whole grain bread for fiber.
- The sel is essential, because sodium is one of the main electrolytes lost when drinking alcohol, and because alcohol is a diuretic, you need to replenish the lost alkalines.
- Lawyer – for vitamins, minerals and healthy fats that will increase your energy levels.
- Eggs – a must no matter how you cook them, as they are “an excellent source of B12, which is likely to be depleted when you have a hangover”, as well as suppliers of the amino acid cysteine to combat acetaldehyde (“a toxic byproduct of alcohol metabolism”). Eggs are also a real concentrate of nutrients, proteins and vitamins.
- Sauce of your choice. Classified under G: taste.
Dr. Williams also suggests pairing the sandwich with a “large glass of water and a cup of tea for hydration and antioxidants.”
It's not the worst morning, is it?
Just remember to drink responsibly, have plenty of water on hand, and no matter what a tipsy parent says, the “hair of the dog” doesn't really help. This only prolongs the agony.
And most importantly, don't drive drunk.
