The six health establishments to be modernized will be the Bach Mai Hospital, the Viet Duc Friendship Hospital (Vietnam – Germany), the Huê Central Hospital, the Cho Rây Hospital, the 108 Central Military Hospital and the military hospital 175.

These facilities will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, advanced medical technologies and partnerships with international experts and organizations to ensure quality standards.

With a growing and aging population, the need for high-quality medical services is increasing. Vietnamese people want access to advanced medical technologies and world-class health services without having to travel abroad.

Every year, many Vietnamese seek treatment abroad, leading to significant outflows of foreign currencies. Furthermore, the modernization of national hospitals helps attract not only domestic patients but also patients from other countries, thus contributing to the national economy.

This modernization is part of an implementation plan of the national master plan on the network of health establishments for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, recently approved by the Prime Minister.

The plan focuses on detailing tasks and solutions, mobilizing resources and assigning responsibilities to ministries, central agencies and local authorities in implementing the master plan. It also outlines a roadmap for the implementation of a list of priority investment projects, identifying key areas, timelines and resources for execution.

The plan highlights priority investment in the construction of the Central Highlands Central Hospital and national organ transplant coordination centers in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.

In the field of prevention and public health, priority will be given to the construction of a central disease control center and three regional disease control centers.

In the area of population and reproductive health, priority will be given to the creation of two prenatal and neonatal screening and diagnosis centers in Thai Nguyên and Dak Lak. Six existing prenatal and neonatal screening and diagnosis centers will be upgraded in Hanoi, Nghê An, Thua Thiên Huê, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho.
