Respiratory infections: alert level changes to code yellow

The Risk Management Group (RMG) has raised the alert level for respiratory infections to code yellow, reporting a notable increase in viral circulation, although pressure on the health system remains under control.

The basic recommendations remain: hand hygiene, regular ventilation of indoor spaces, isolation in case of symptoms and wearing a mask for five days after the acute phase of infection, particularly among vulnerable people.

In code yellow, increased attention is paid to ventilation: frequent ventilation of premises, optimization of existing systems and maintaining CO₂ concentrations below 900 ppm.

The RMG finally recalls the importance of vaccination against influenza, COVID-19, RSV and pneumococci for vulnerable groups, caregivers and pregnant women. The RMG remains on standby to adjust the measures according to epidemiological developments.

The system of codes color is relatively new and draws on experiences gained during the coronavirus pandemic. Each code color is associated with specific recommendations.
