On his YouTube channel with 12 million subscribers, Dr. Eric Berg lists the seven healthiest foods to include in your diet. The first of them, described as very beneficial, is sauerkraut! The doctor highlights its health benefits: a low carbohydrate content, as well as a rich intake of vitamin C and fiber.

In his video titled “The Healthiest Foods You Need in Your Diet”Dr. Berg lists sauerkraut at the top of his ranking. This superfood obtained from fermented cabbage is rich in fiber and low in calories. But these are not its only assets! “Sauerkraut is the food that contains the most vitamin C”reveals the expert. “In fact, in a cup of sauerkraut there are over 700 milligrams of vitamin C and the daily requirement we need is only about 75 milligrams, and a cup of sauerkraut provides us with 700 milligrams”adds the expert.
